Hot weather makes for a hot kitchen! But anything worth having usually means some sort of sacrifice no? These latest shots are some of my more recent works to welcome summer...
Baby Raquel's Shower Cake
These cute duo were made for the baby shower of my cousin. Both cakes are strawberry cake with strawberry mousse and were frosted in buttercream. The accents were made from fondant. The larger cake was for the guests to enjoy and the smaller of the two were for the expectant parents to enjoy.
Since the mom to be isn't a huge fan of pink, I opted for an apple green backdrop on the frosting and used white, green, and pink flowers. The design came out as a very cute but understated girly cake without going overboard on the pink. :)
Tiramisu Cupcakes...Thank you gift for Ms. Zamboni :)
One of the best parts of summer is the ending of the school year. My daughter's teacher this year was Ms. Zamboni. As our way of thanking her for all her hard work and encouragement, we presented her with a dozen Tiramisu cupcakes with a marscapone frosting. The cupcakes looked so pretty that they looked great next to the flowers that accompanied them. Have a great summer Ms. Z! :)
