New Cakes!

The 1st weekend in May shaped up to be a busy one! Two cakes, one weekend sent my oven into overdrive. Both of these cakes were a joint collaboration with Cynsational Delights, a SF based baking company owned and operated by my sister, Cynthia Cevellos. If you are in the SF/ Bay Area, be sure to check out her site at: www.cynsationaldelights.com  I hope you enjoy the results....

Beary Nice Baby Shower Cake

This cake features a cute teddy bear cake topper. He is made of chocolate cake and was filled with strawberry mouse. The 12" cake is also a chocolate and strawberry combo.

The parents to be are eagerly awaiting a little boy and therefore we tried to make this cake more boy friendly but still used some other shades of baby colors to keep the presentation sweet...just like all babies.

Here is a close up shot of the bear...

1st Communion Cake

This was a triple cake combination that featured a 11x12 sheet cake and two 8" round cakes. All the accents on the cakes were made from royal icing and pressed sugar. The design on the sheet cake featured garlands around the cake and used on the rounds to enhance the cake toppers. The sheet cake and one of the rounds were made of vanilla cake, the 2nd round was a chocolate cake. All were filled with strawberrys.
